Ripple deepens RLUSD compliance rails as XRP stalls below key resistance

Ripple is pressing ahead with the institutional build-out of its RLUSD stablecoin, adding compliance partnerships and cross-border payment integrations even as XRP itself remains becalmed near the $1 mark. The gap between accelerating corporate activity and a stagnant token price has become the defining feature of Ripple’s position this summer, with market participants increasingly framing the next move as dependent on regulatory clarity rather than product news.

XRP changed hands at roughly $1.0997 as of 25 July, according to CoinMarketCap data, giving the token a market capitalisation of about $68.7 billion on 24-hour trading volume near $648 million. The token was up about 1% on the day and 1.1% over the week, but the medium-term picture is weaker, with XRP down roughly 18% over 60 days and close to 23% over 90 days. Circulating supply stood at approximately 62.5 billion of the 100 billion maximum.

Support at $1.08–$1.09 draws technical attention

Chart analysts have zeroed in on the $1.08–$1.09 band, where the 200-day moving average currently sits, as the level that could determine XRP’s next directional move. A confirmed break below that support has been flagged by some traders as a potential trigger for a sharper slide, with the low-$0.90s cited as a downside scenario depending on liquidity. On the upside, $1.13 is seen as the first meaningful resistance, with a breakout potentially opening a path toward $1.17 and $1.21.

Volatility itself has compressed, with commentary pointing to a Bollinger Band squeeze on higher timeframes — a pattern typically associated with a coiling phase ahead of a larger move, though without a clear catalyst, prolonged range-bound trading remains possible.

RLUSD’s institutional plumbing expands

Ripple has introduced “Mint”, a platform allowing institutional users to issue, redeem and manage RLUSD, its dollar-pegged stablecoin, through a web console and APIs designed to cut operational friction for enterprise settlement and compliance needs. The company has also struck a partnership with compliance payments specialist Notabene, including an investment and plans to integrate RLUSD into Notabene’s B2B stablecoin product, Notabene Flow, aimed at banks and payment providers navigating tightening rules on stablecoin issuance and counterparty verification.

Ripple has additionally cited work with Mastercard, JPMorgan, OKX and Ondo Finance to expand institutional liquidity and DeFi connectivity around RLUSD. On the XRP Ledger itself, tokenised real-world assets have surpassed $3.5 billion, with so-called agentic transactions — automated, rule-based activity often linked to AI systems — exceeding 1 million. New standards such as XLS-66 are being positioned as infrastructure for permissioned decentralised exchange activity incorporating RLUSD and euro-denominated stablecoins.

Europe and ETF flows point to institutional patience

Ripple continues to emphasise alignment with the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation as it expands in Europe, and was named for a fourth consecutive year to CNBC and Statista’s “World’s Top Fintech Companies” list. In the United States, market participants are watching the proposed CLARITY bill as a potential structural catalyst for digital asset markets.

Spot XRP exchange-traded funds have meanwhile settled into a steadier pattern, with cumulative net inflows of roughly $1.49 billion and total net assets around $997 million. Daily trading volume of about $8.8 million suggests retail activity has cooled from the launch period, though analysts note the sustained cumulative figures indicate institutional allocations have not reversed even as headline price action stays subdued.
